blasus delicatessen, Carmarthen

blasus delicatessen, Carmarthen

This is an exceptional little delicatessen in the heart of the thriving town of Camarthen and is certainly worth a visit should you be passing through or staying locally.

Having eaten items from this delicatessen before and been hugely impressed by both the quality and flavour, we decided to stop here (on our way to Newcastle Emelyn during a short break) for a light lunch consisting of some 'light bites'. Highly recommended are the goats cheese and onion tarts, which were still warm when served. Also delicious is the homemade green pesto - to die for, as they say. It has a rich, full flavour, which we enjoyed dipped into with fresh and crusty rye bread, also available, together with some marinated olives.

I enjoyed a crayfish and chilli (brown) bagette, which was generously filled with sweet crayfish, mixed leaves and a light seafood/chilli sauce, which was delicious.
