Photographic study of Newcastle Emlyn

by Claire Meredith

Newcastle Emlyn (Castellnewydd Emlyn in Welsh) is a small market town in northwest Carmarthenshire, set in the picturesque Tywi valley. The river meanders around the town, defining its boundaries, and that of Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. The town's architecture is mainly Georgian, but many older houses are to be seen and the eponymous castle is, of course, from much earlier times.

Cymru Culture recently visited this lovely town, giving us the opportunity to make a photographic study of this beautiful part of Wales.
